We have been learning about important places in Auckland. After our trip to Auckland City last Wednesday we used different boxes and containers to build a tall tower. We enjoyed knocking it down too. Look at the tall buildings we made.
Welcome to our blog. We are Satellite students from Sommerville Special school based at Tamaki Primary school. We are a busy class of 5 boys and our teacher is Lauren Morfett. We love sharing our learning and adventures with you.

Making Maths Fun!
In our classroom we love to play games, use our hands and move around the classroom. It doesn't feel like were doing maths because we are having so much fun. Todia is building a tall tower by counting to 20, Ricky is adding two numbers together by putting pom poms in the cups and Conrad is learning ordinal numbers by playing a car racing game. Learning is fun at Tamaki Primary Satellite!

Trip to the Sky Tower
We are learning about important places in Auckland. We went for a trip to the Sky Tower and then drove through the Domain on the way home. The Sky Tower was so tall! We walked over the glass which was very scary and saw someone doing the a Bungy Jump and the Sky Walk.
What a fabulous trip!

Healthy Eating
This term we are learning about healthy food and how to categorize food into groups. This week we sorted different food items into fruit, vegetables, dairy, grains and protein.
Based on the programme "My Healthy Plate" we chose food items that we like to eat and made a plate by sorting items into the above groups. We are able to identify food that is good for us!

Reflection and Mirror Images
This term we have been learning about reflection for our Maths topic. We wrote our names on a whiteboard to see its reflection in the mirror. We can see that is backwards. Ricky wrote "Tamaki Primary" using words from our word wall and said that the words "looked funny" in the mirror.
